Diontae Johnson’s brief stint with the Texans ends as he is waived after two games
Houston: So, Diontae Johnson’s time with the Texans has come to an end. He was waived after just two games with the team. It’s a bummer, right?
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said, “Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. We are onto the Chiefs.” It seems like they’re moving forward quickly.
Johnson had a bit of a rough season. He started with the Panthers, got traded to the Ravens, and then ended up with the Texans. He played one regular season game and one playoff game, racking up three catches for 24 yards. Not exactly a standout performance.
He was brought in to help the Ravens’ receiving corps but ended up suspended for refusing to enter a game. After that, he was waived and picked up by the Texans, especially after Tank Dell got hurt.
In the Texans’ wild-card win over the Chargers, he played 16 snaps. Now, they’re gearing up to face the Chiefs in the next round. Johnson’s contract is up, so once he clears waivers, he’ll be a free agent. Let’s see where he lands next!
