With Ben Johnson no longer an option, the Raiders face tough choices ahead for their head coach position
Las Vegas: So, Ben Johnson is off the table for the Raiders. Now, the big question is, where do they turn next for a head coach?
They’ve got a few names in the mix. They’ve looked at Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken. There’s also Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and former Jets coach Robert Saleh. Even Pete Carroll and Vance Joseph are on their radar.
It seems like Tom Brady had his eyes set on Johnson, but now he might have to consider Kliff Kingsbury, who’s doing well with the Commanders. The catch? The Raiders didn’t chat with him when they had the chance, so they’ll have to wait until after Washington’s season wraps up.
And that could take a while. The Raiders have a tough sell ahead. They need to convince someone to join a team without a solid quarterback and in a tough division.
Plus, the new coach will have to deal with two owners—Mark Davis and Tom Brady, who’s often busy with his gig at Fox. It’s a tricky situation for sure!
