Glendale: So, the 49ers had their season finale against the Cardinals, and it was a bit of a mixed bag. They racked up 436 yards of offense, which sounds great, right? But they still lost 47-24. Ouch!

After the game, Coach Kyle Shanahan shared that Klay Kubiak was the one calling the plays. He said Kubiak did a “great job,” which is pretty high praise considering it was a tough game.

Quarterback Joshua Dobbs, who stepped in for Brock Purdy, felt the offense was moving well. He mentioned they executed plays effectively and had a lot of offensive production, which is always a good sign.

Dobbs threw for a career-high 326 yards and two touchdowns, even though he had a couple of interceptions. Running back Patrick Taylor Jr. also had a solid game, rushing for 109 yards on 17 carries.

This was a big deal because it was the first time Shanahan didn’t call plays in a regular-season game since he started as an offensive coordinator back in 2008. Kubiak had called plays in a couple of preseason games, but this was a whole new level.

Kubiak just wrapped up his first season as the 49ers’ offensive passing game specialist. He’s been with Shanahan’s team since 2021, starting as a defensive quality control coach. Plus, he comes from a football family, being the son of former NFL head coach Gary Kubiak.

It’s interesting to see how things are shaping up for the 49ers moving forward. Let’s see what next season brings!
