After a missed call, Josh Allen received a warning from the referee during the Bills’ victory against the Broncos
Buffalo: So, Josh Allen had quite the day on Sunday. He snagged a win but also got a little talking-to from referee Bill Vinovich during the game against the Broncos.
It was a tight match, and the Bills were leading 10-7 when they tried a pass play on third-and-goal. But things got a bit messy when Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II grabbed tight end Dalton Kincaid in the end zone.
Allen couldn’t find anyone open and ended up taking a sack. He was pretty vocal about the no-call, which had everyone buzzing. If they had called holding, the Bills would’ve been in a prime spot to score.
Instead, they had to settle for a field goal, making it 13-7. After that play, Vinovich strolled over to chat with Allen, who was sitting on the bench. It was a bit unclear what was said, but Vinovich seemed to be pointing to himself, and Allen gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder.
Did he admit to missing the call? Did he apologize? Well, according to Allen, Vinovich told him, “don’t be yelling” after he expressed his frustration. Allen took it in stride, saying, “I wasn’t happy with what was going on. My bad. Sorry to Bill.”
Luckily for the Bills, that missed call didn’t hurt them too much. They quickly got the Broncos off the field and scored again, eventually winning 31-7. Now, they’re gearing up to face the Baltimore Ravens next week in the playoffs.
