Demarcus Robinson faces a misdemeanor DUI charge following his arrest in November after allegedly speeding on the freeway
Los Angeles: So, Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson got himself into some hot water. He was charged with a misdemeanor for driving under the influence after getting arrested back in November.
Apparently, he was caught speeding over 100 mph on the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills. The California Highway Patrol pulled him over, and he was cited right there on the spot.
Robinson is set to appear in court on February 24 at the Van Nuys Courthouse. TMZ was the first to break the news about his charges.
Despite the situation, Rams coach Sean McVay decided not to suspend him. Robinson has been having a solid season, with 31 catches for 505 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s expected to start in the upcoming wild-card game against the Vikings.
After his arrest, Robinson admitted he made a “bad decision” by driving while impaired. He acknowledged it was a poor choice and didn’t want to bring any negative attention to the team.
Robinson, who’s been in the league for nine years, is playing this season on a one-year contract worth $4 million, which includes $1 million in incentives. It’s a tough spot for him, but he’s trying to move forward.
