Dallas: So, you heard about Chase Brown, right? The Bengals running back just got hit with a $5,481 fine for his wild touchdown celebration. He jumped right into one of those Salvation Army kettles after scoring a 19-yard touchdown at AT&T Stadium.

Funny enough, the refs didn’t even throw a flag during the game. But the NFL has a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to these kettle celebrations. Sometimes they fine players, and sometimes they just let it slide.

Take the Cowboys, for example. On Thanksgiving Day 2023, none of their players got fined for jumping into the kettles, even when they were munching on turkey legs they found inside. It’s a bit of a head-scratcher.

And remember Ezekiel Elliott? He leaped into a kettle back in 2016 and didn’t get fined, but then he did get hit with a fine for the same thing in 2018. It’s all over the place!

Just last year, four tight ends from the same team did a Whac-a-Mole celebration in a kettle and got fined, but it seems like the rules are just a little fuzzy.

Even Justin Coleman from the Seahawks got penalized for jumping into a kettle after a pick-six in 2017, but he didn’t face a fine. The NFL has these rules against using props, but honestly, they should cut some slack. The Salvation Army gets great publicity from these celebrations!
