Josh McDaniels is reportedly returning to the New England Patriots as their offensive coordinator, marking his third time in this role
Foxborough: So, it looks like Josh McDaniels is making a comeback with the New England Patriots. He’s expected to be named the offensive coordinator again, which is pretty exciting for fans.
This will be McDaniels’ third time in this role, and he’s got a solid track record. He’s worked with some great players and has been part of all six Super Bowl wins for the team. The Patriots are hoping he can help their young quarterback, Drake Maye, really shine.
McDaniels has been around the block with the Patriots before. He started as a personnel assistant back in 2001 and climbed the ranks to become the offensive coordinator. After a stint as head coach for the Raiders, he’s back where he started.
His last season with the Patriots was pretty good, too. He helped rookie Mac Jones lead the team to the playoffs with a decent record. Now, the team is looking forward to what he can do with Maye.
Before settling on McDaniels, the Patriots checked out a few other candidates. But it seems like McDaniels was always the favorite. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out!
