New York: The Jets just finished chatting with Aaron Glenn about their head coach job. They made the announcement on Thursday night, and it’s pretty exciting.

Glenn is currently the defensive coordinator for the Lions and has been doing a solid job. He actually started his NFL career with the Jets after they picked him 12th overall from Texas A&M. He played eight seasons in New York and even made it to the Pro Bowl twice.

He’s got a good amount of experience, having spent time in the Jets’ front office as a scout too. Now, he’s in his 11th season coaching in the NFL. Before the Lions, he was with the Browns and then the Saints, where he worked under Sean Payton.

Under Glenn, the Lions have really turned things around. They went from a rough 3-13-1 record in 2021 to an impressive 15-2 this season. It’s clear he knows how to get results.

Besides the Jets, Glenn is also set to interview with the Bears, Raiders, Jaguars, and Saints. Interestingly, he turned down an interview with the Patriots.

The Jets have been busy too, interviewing other candidates like Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and former head coaches Rex Ryan and Ron Rivera. They’re casting a wide net to find the right fit.
