San Francisco: The 49ers have some big choices ahead as free agency looms. Fans are really hoping the team keeps Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga around.

Before the recent game against the Dolphins, NBC Sports Bay Area asked fans what they thought the team should do. A solid 60% want both players back, even with their injury struggles this season.

Greenlaw has had a tough time since coming back from a torn Achilles. He led the team with eight tackles in his first game back but had to leave early due to calf soreness. Coach Shanahan mentioned it’s up to Greenlaw if he plays in the last two games.

His teammates know how crucial he is. Deommodore Lenoir said he’s hoping they can re-sign him, calling him a “dog” on the field. That says a lot about how valued Greenlaw is.

Hufanga has faced his own injury issues, returning from an ACL tear and then dealing with ankle and wrist problems. But when he’s on the field, he really makes a difference.

Shanahan noted that Hufanga’s return sparked the team’s energy. It’s clear that fans feel the same way and want to see both players back in red and gold.

So, as the offseason approaches, the buzz around these two players is only getting louder.
