San Francisco: So, there was some drama during the 49ers game against the Rams. De’Vondre Campbell, who’s usually a starter, just decided not to play when they really needed him. That didn’t sit well with his teammates, especially Charvarius Ward.
Campbell had been starting all season, but with Dre Greenlaw back from injury, he got bumped to the second team. Then, when Greenlaw hurt his knee, the team needed Campbell to step up. But instead, he just left the sideline in the third quarter. Not cool, right?
After the game, Ward didn’t hold back. He said Campbell should’ve been upfront about not wanting to play. He felt it was selfish, especially since the team was in a tough spot. Ward even hinted that Campbell might be on his way out soon.
Coach Kyle Shanahan didn’t confirm if Campbell would be cut, but it’s hard to see how they could keep a player who won’t do his job when the team is counting on him.
