Jahmyr Gibbs steps into a leading role for the Lions after Montgomery’s injury, making him a must-start for fantasy playoffs
Detroit: So, big news from the Lions! Jahmyr Gibbs is really stepping up now that David Montgomery is out with a torn MCL. This means Gibbs is about to get a ton of action. He played a whopping 57 snaps last week, which is a season high for him.
In that game, he also ran a record 46 routes. The Lions were playing from behind, so he got a lot of chances to show what he can do. And let me tell you, he’s been doing great! He’s currently sitting as the RB7 in fantasy points per game, averaging around 18 points.
With Montgomery out, Gibbs is likely to see even more opportunities. He could easily hit 20 touches a game, which is fantastic for anyone in the fantasy playoffs. He’s got a matchup coming up against the Bears, a team he already racked up 104 yards against on Thanksgiving. So, if you’ve got him, you definitely want to start him! He’s looking like a solid RB1 for the rest of the season.
